The Dallas Cowboys continue their reign as the top-valued team in North American sports.

Sportico’s latest franchise value rankings, published Tuesday, once again rank Jerry Jones’ NFL team at No. 1 overall, valued at $12.8 billion, comfortably ahead of the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Rams.

The latest list covers 154 sports franchises across the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and MLS, with Canadian franchises spread out in the latest rankings.

The Toronto Raptors are the top Canadian team, ranked 48th overall at $5.22 billion, placing them comfortably ahead of several U.S.-based NBA franchises.

The Toronto Maple Leafs once again claim the honour of being the most valuable Canadian NHL franchise, sitting at 61st overall at $4.25 billion. The Leafs are not only Canada’s richest team but also the NHL’s most valuable club.

Just behind them are the Montreal Canadiens, ranked 73rd at $3.3 billion, with the Edmonton Oilers close behind at 78th ($2.76 billion) and the Vancouver Canucks at 97th ($1.87 billion). The other three Canadian NHL clubs also surpassed the $1 billion mark with the Calgary Flames (99th, $1.82 billion), Ottawa Senators (123rd, $1.34 billion) and Winnipeg Jets (124th, $1.33 billion).

In Major League Baseball, the Toronto Blue Jays check in at 83rd overall ($2.39 billion). After a playoff run that took them to the World Series, the Jays saw their value rise, after Forbes had them worth $2.15 billion back in March 2025.

Canada’s lowest-ranked major professional teams appear in Major League Soccer.

Toronto FC (139th, $730 million), Vancouver Whitecaps FC (153rd, $450 million), and CF Montreal (154th, $430 million) occupy the bottom tier of the rankings. Vancouver and Montreal were the last two teams of all professional teams in North America, highlighting both MLS’s evolving business model and the financial gap that still exists between soccer and the more established North American leagues.

NFL franchises dominate the top of Sportico’s thanks in part to massive national TV deals and revenue sharing.

Editor’s Note: Rogers Communications Inc., which also owns Sportsnet, holds a 75 per cent stake in MLSE, making it the majority owner. MLSE owns the Maple Leafs, Raptors, Toronto FC and Toronto Argonauts, among other properties. Rogers Communications Inc., is also the owner of the Toronto Blue Jays.
