This could be the last time fans see Paddy Pimblett compete in January or February, as the Liverpool native has made it clear that he plans to never step into the octagon so early in the year again.

The Baddy’ will be locking horns with Justin Gaethje later this week and headlining UFC 324, where the interim lightweight title will be up for grabs. On fight week, Pimblett appeared in an interview with CBS Sports Golazo, during which he confessed that he never plans to fight in January or February again, since it disrupts his birthday as well as his Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Pimblett had to stay in training camp for the past two or three months for UFC 324, and couldn’t binge-eat, something he usually loves.

“I’m never, ever fighting in January or February ever again. I just hope everyone at the UFC knows that, because it ruined my Christmas, ruined my birthday, so I’ll never be fighting this early in the year again.”

Pimblett, who turned 31 on January 3, has also delayed his birthday celebrations until January 24 and hopes to celebrate it once he beats Gaethje on Saturday and takes home the interim lightweight title.

The Brit also has an afterparty on January 24 at the Zouk Night Club, about which he informed fans via Instagram.

Paddy Pimblett plans to Fight again in June or July

If Paddy Pimblett is crowned as the interim lightweight champion at UFC 324, he plans on entering the octagon again in June or July for the title unification bout with champion Ilia Topuria. Topuria, on the other hand, wants to fight anytime between April and June and is currently on a hiatus for personal reasons.

‘The Baddy’ intends to give ‘El Matador’ a taste of his own medicine by making him wait. He told TMZ Sports:

“He’s gonna have to wait. He made me wait, he can wait a few months. April is not happening lad… he can eat sh*t. I’ll fight in June/July.”
