The American Century Championship at Lake Tahoe is always filled with celebrity high jinks, and this year’s edition was no different.
But it came with a gold medal twist.
Brothers Brady and Matthew Tkachuk, two stars of the United States’ gold-medal-winning hockey team, were in the field along with Matthew Boldy. Former U.S. Men’s National Team forward and current MLS announcer Taylor Twellman was also at Lake Tahoe and joined the latest edition of GOLF’s Subpar podcast with Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz to detail the event and discuss the World Cup.

Mardy Fish won the tournament, but the Tkachuk brothers stole the show at karaoke, according to Twellman.
“The Tkachucks killed it,” Twellman told Knost and Stoltz. “Dream On was a no-brainer. But the best part was that they did not know that they had to sing the next night. So Matt and Brady were like, ‘Hold on, we’ve got to do this again?’ No voices. Obviously, they’ve been going at it for a couple of nights. So the second rendition may not have been as good as the first one. But listen, Boldy marked his ball with his gold medal.
“It was fun as s—t to be with those guys.”
