The 2026 season continues this weekend, with the teams and drivers preparing for the legendary challenge of the Belgian Grand Prix – but what kind of weather conditions are in store for them?

Spa-Francorchamps is known for its rapidly changing climate, with many previous editions of the race affected by heavy rainfall. Last year, Oscar Piastri clinched victory in a thrilling wet-dry event that was delayed due to the excessive rain.

Europe has enjoyed a series of heatwaves over recent weeks, but temperatures are set to drop when the paddock descends on Belgium, with some wet weather potentially in store across the weekend.

Scroll down for a more detailed look at the forecast.

2026 Belgian Grand Prix weekend weather forecast

FRIDAY, JULY 17 – FP1 AND FP2Conditions: Expect a mild and active day of precipitation. Temperatures will range from 14°C in the morning to a high of 25°C during the day, with a 40% chance of moderate rain showers with embedded thunderstorms possible. Activity should remain rather hit-and-miss in nature, but if a thunderstorm occurs rainfall could be heavy for 30-60 minutes at a time. Winds will be moderate, with average speeds of 12 km/h and gusts possibly reaching 35 km/h. Lastly, expect track temperatures to rise into the mid 40s, given ample sunshine in between showers. As of now, Friday looks like the most active day of weather during race weekend.Maxmimum temperature expected: 25 CelsiusMinimum temperature expected: 14 CelsiusChance of rain: 40%

SATURDAY, JULY 18 – FP3 AND QUALIFYINGConditions: Expect a mixture of clouds and sun. Temperatures will range from a temperate 10°C in the morning to a comfortable high of 21°C, with track temperatures reaching the upper 30s. There is a low risk for morning fog to develop, but any fog that develops should diminish before 0900. The building cloud cover throughout the day should limit greater track surface heating. There is a 20% chance of rain, with the bulk of the activity expected to develop south/east of the area during the morning and afternoon hours. Winds will be moderate out of the northwest averaging 14 km/h with gusts to 35 km/h. These conditions should present a pleasant viewing experience for spectators and a favorably stable track for racing teams.Maxmimum temperature expected: 21 CelsiusMinimum temperature expected: 10 CelsiusChance of rain: 20%

SUNDAY, JULY 19 – RACEConditions: The weather at Spa-Francorchamps on July 19, 2026, is expected to be seasonably cooler with a high of 19°C and a low of 8°C. There is another low risk for morning fog to redevelop, but any fog that develops should diminish before 0900. A front will quickly move through in the morning and again during the afternoon, however the air mass over the region should be too dry to permit any precipitation from forming, though there should be a healthy mix of clouds of sun. Winds will average 13 km/h, occasionally gusting up to 40 km/h. The track temperature may only reach the low 30s, but could trend slightly warmer with greater afternoon sunshine. Overall, the weather looks favourable for racing sessions, though the morning sessions may need to keep a watchful eye for any lingering fog impacts.Maxmimum temperature expected: 19 CelsiusMinimum temperature expected: 8 CelsiusChance of rain: 10%
