Andy Diouf scored twice in stoppage time as Inter Milan came from behind to beat Karlsruher SC 2-1 in a pre-season friendly at BBBank Wildpark.
The second-half substitute struck in the 91st and 94th minutes to cancel out Tim Civeja’s opener for the German hosts in dramatic fashion.
After a goalless first half in Karlsruhe, the hosts broke the deadlock five minutes after the restart when Civeja swept home a right-footed finish from inside the penalty area.
Moritz Broschinski provided the assist to put the home team ahead, giving Karlsruher SC a surprise lead against their Italian Serie A opponents.
Inter pushed relentlessly for an equalizer and dominated the second period, generating 24 total shots and testing home goalkeeper Hans Christian Bernat on 11 occasions.
Bernat produced an outstanding display in goal, making nine saves to keep Karlsruher SC ahead for the majority of the second half.
Civeja, who had scored the opening goal earlier in the match, was shown a yellow card in the 70th minute as the pressure mounted.
Karlsruher SC were forced to finish the match with ten men after Sebastian Jung went off injured late on following the use of all available substitutions.
Inter finally made their dominance count in the first minute of injury time when Diouf smashed home a left-footed equalizer following a corner situation.
Just three minutes later, Alessandro Bastoni set up Diouf to complete the turnaround, with the midfielder driving a crisp left-footed strike high into the top corner.
The dramatic comeback victory represents Inter’s second win of their summer camp in Donaueschingen, following an initial 16-0 win against local side SV Aasen.
