‘A matter of urgency’ – 11th tier club Bagshot are left in a ‘very grave position regarding it’s immediate future’.

A statement was issued onto the Surrey Premier County Football League outfit’s social media following the departure of their manager.

It isn’t just a new manager they’re looking for, but also a coach and around 10 players to ensure the club have a future.

Since finishing bottom of the SPCFL Premier Division for the 2025/26 (14th with 14 points from 26 games), there has been a fair few changes.

They got a reprieve, entered a new era, a structural change to correct the direction and future of the club, a groundshare at Frimley Green, a newly assembled board of directors, fan focused incentives, new club colours and a new crest.

The 3rd of July saw Brett Wickens resign as manager, Jaemie Gale was appointed four days later, Stuart Morgan was named as the new chairman on the 13th, check out his introductory interview HERE.

But with 17 days until their league season gets underway, the club have announced that Jaemie Gale has resigned. Here’s what they had to say…

The statement read: “Bagshot Football Club can confirm that First Team Manager Jaemie Gale has resigned from his position with immediate effect.

“The club is extremely disappointed by this decision, particularly at such a crucial stage in pre-season; it leaves Bagshot FC in a very grave position regarding its immediate future.

“Everyone at the club feels this is a significant setback for everyone connected with Bagshot FC including our volunteers, supporters, and sponsors who continue to work tirelessly behind the scenes.

“Despite these challenging circumstances, the club remains committed to ensuring its survival and rebuilding for the future.

“We are now urgently seeking a new first-team manager, coach, and at least 10 players capable of competing in the ‘Surrey Premier County League’ (Step 7 level) and above, who share our ambition, commitment, and desire to represent Bagshot Football Club with pride.

“We have everything to offer off the pitch. Financial stability, an autumn/winter training venue, a new 3-year ground share at Frimley Green FC and lots of new kit on order.

“Anyone interested in becoming part of the club’s next chapter is encouraged to contact us as soon as possible. You can do so by emailing ch******@**********co.uk or messaging on ‘X’

“It must be stated that without immediate interest from managers and players alike, the future of Bagshot Football Club is in serious jeopardy. Quite simply, if we cannot rebuild the squad and management team quickly, the club will have no option but to fold.

“We are calling on the wider footballing community to help support our club and together, we hope to secure the future of Bagshot Football Club and commence rebuilding immediately.

“With the league season due to start in a little over 2 weeks, this situation must be resolved as a matter of urgency.”

Here’s the social media reaction with the 11th tier club in a ‘very grave position regarding it’s immediate future’…

The new chairman Stuart Morgan (@Stu9891) posted a tweet: “I can’t stress enough the importance of this! If any manager or player can help out by getting involved, then please do get in touch. Off-pitch stuff is all taken care of.”

@nonleaguesouths: If anyone is interested in getting involved with a club thats been left in the lurch (to put it mildly) please reach out to them!

@andysharratt: Someone must fancy this. The Wickens family have done a fantastic job over the years building and maintaining a club. It would be great if the non league football world stepped up and helped out.

When asked is there really a risk to the club’s future during his introductory interview, chairman Stuart Morgan said at the time:

“I think with the way football is nowadays, no one should be surprised of anything.

“Many clubs who have encountered serious problems over recent years have either gone under or have lost their way, becoming a shadow of the club they used to be.

“We need to get things right on the pitch as well as off it and if things couldn’t improve from last season, it would be concerning.

“We’ve made some initial brand changes (a new crest and adopting themed home colours), but the single-most important thing we must focus on for now, is the basics!

“We need to back the manager as best as we possibly can. The club really needs committed players and we need to start making this club a place where people want to be.

“It’s going to take time and this upcoming season will be the start of trying to lay the foundations to support a better future.

“It’s the 121st year of Bagshot FC and I want to honour that with a new membership scheme (called the ‘121 Club’). Initially, it’ll be limited to just 121 people; I know that’s optimistic, it will offer a range of benefits. It will certainly give back to fans who sign up for it.

“Once the club is on a more stable platform, we will look to plan other ways we can grow and become more successful on and off the pitch.

“Keep supporting Bagshot Football Club. Now, more than ever! Come down to the KBO Stadium this season and see what we can do for you.

“Be patient and give us time and we are hopeful it’ll be a great chapter for this historic football club.”
