Mike Tyson Is Training Like a Beast for a Fight at 60 — There’s One Problem

Mike Tyson is training like a man with a fight booked. The problem is that almost a month after an announcement postponed his proposed Floyd Mayweather exhibition, there is still no date, no venue, and very little sign of movement.

Days before his 60th birthday, Tyson has once again been posting footage showing explosive combinations, sharp movement, and the kind of intensity that always gets fans talking.

The former undisputed heavyweight champion looks in remarkable condition.

The question is what he appears to be training for.

Waiting on Floyd

Back on May 20, a press release stated that Tyson’s exhibition with Mayweather had been pushed back after Tyson suffered a hand injury in training.

The statement insisted the event remained on and would be rescheduled for the fall.

Since then, there has been little to report.

There has been no movement and no meaningful promotion from Mayweather himself despite Tyson continuing to prepare as if a return is around the corner.

Despite training hard, Tyson may eventually have to find another opponent unless Mayweather gets on board soon.

Mayweather first faces Mike Zambidis this month and remains linked to a potential rematch with Manny Pacquiao later this year. If those plans take priority and move forward, Tyson could find himself waiting at 60 while Mayweather focuses elsewhere.

Tyson has given every indication that he expects to fight again. The footage suggests a man preparing for a date rather than simply staying in shape.

Training Without Answers

Tyson appears to be doing everything required of a fighter preparing for a comeback, but the only missing piece is clarity.

The footage looks impressive and the work ethic remains undeniable. Yet the biggest question surrounding Tyson has nothing to do with how he looks on the pads.

It is whether the opponent he appears to be preparing for will actually be standing in the opposite corner when the time comes.

For now, Tyson keeps training while the uncertainty remains.

The longer the silence continues, the bigger the question becomes: who is he actually preparing for?
