The adidas DON Issue #8 Proudly Wears Cavs Colors

Donovan Mitchell has yet to deliver a championship to Cleveland, but as the New York Knicks faithful would remind you, even earning one ring can be a Sisyphean task. And all things considered, being able to revive the franchise to its first few postseason berths after LeBron James left town has to place him in decent company for The Land.

The feeling is mutual as Donovan Mitchell builds to the debut of his adidas DON Issue #8, now surfacing in a Cavs-forward edition that plays off of historic jerseys rather than the one he suits up in on a night-to-night basis. While wine tonality is represented in spurts, across synthetic mudguards and on a midfoot shank, the red and gold kits from the aughts are the clearer reference point, if nothing else for the gilded branding and trim that dominates the heel. Additionally, this is another moment where Mitchell’s love for gradients remains a focus, taking the mesh siding from pink at the toe into bolder fare across the sidewalls.

The adidas DON Issue #8 in this Cavs colorway adds to a growing set of options coming for Mitchell’s latest. His eighth is due out on August 15th, with this pair factoring in for the Fall/Winter season.
