The trade deadline approaches tomorrow afternoon, and we’ve already seen one major domino fall in the last few hours, as the Dodgers have miraculously scooped up Tarik Skubal for just OF Zyhir Hope (ranked in the 25-50 range on MLB top prospect lists) and two throw-ins (injured RHP River Ryan and wonky RHP Brady Smith).
ESPN has already given the Tigers a D-grade for the trade. Heck, it feels like the Nationals got a better player than Hope for INF Curtis Mead just days ago. And the Dodgers didn’t even need Skubal to win their division or cruise into the playoffs!
So what about the Rays? What do they need to do?
Here’s how you voted, specifically as it pertains to besting the Yankees and taking the division:
The good news here is that not a single person believes the Rays will not take the AL East, but there are some expectations. The general consensus here is that the Rays need to do something with a quarter of voters implying the team needs to make a big splash.
Of course, if you feel strongly about the Rays winning the AL East, you can always responsibly place a bet on this with our sponsor Fanduel.
Let’s see what the trade deadline brings, and GO RAYS
