Missouri basketball’s Class of 2026 is now the top-ranked group in the country.

The Tigers landed a commitment from four-star wing Aidan Chronister on Sunday evening, according to his social media. He is the third player to pledge to Mizzou in this recruiting cycle, with all three of those players ranked among the top-75 in their class.

Chronister, who hails from Fayetteville, Arkansas, is the No. 93-ranked player in the Class of 2026 on 247Sports’ composite class rankings. He is the No. 3 prospect out of the state of Arkansas.

Mizzou already has commitments from five-star shooting guard Jason Crowe Jr. and five-star power forward Toni Bryant. With the addition of Chronister, the Tigers have leaped to the top of the national recruiting leaderboard.

The Tigers moved ahead of Florida State into the top spot. Mizzou is the only team in the nation with multiple five-star pledges in this cycle.

Crowe is the nation’s No. 9 player in 247Sports’ composite rankings, and Bryant is ranked at No. 21. That means Mizzou has three top-100 players with the addition of Chronister.

Chronister was at Missouri football’s win over South Carolina on Saturday for an official visit with his family. Most of the Mizzou basketball staff was spotted on the sidelines before the game while he visited.

His game appears to suit head coach Dennis Gates’ style. Scouts have tipped the wing as a high-volume and efficient 3-point shooter. He also offers good positional size at 6 foot 7.

Chronister held SEC offers from Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Arkansas — where both of his parents were student-athletes. He had official visits set up to Oklahoma State, Saint Louis, Arkansas State and he had previously taken a visit to Wake Forest.

Mizzou is still in the mix for four-star big man Tristan Reed at Link Academy in Branson, Missouri.

But with three commitments on board, the Tigers currently own the nation’s No. 1 class, and the national signing period is getting close.

Mizzou will be able to officially sign its next true freshmen in mid-November, and the group will be eligible to begin play for Missouri in the 2026-27 season.

The Tigers are now a little more than six weeks away from opening their 2025-26 season. Missouri will play Howard on Nov. 3 in Washington, D.C., to open its next campaign.
