We’ve been wrong in predicting this before, but the book is officially closed on the Nike Ja 3 as the “White Label” hits shelves. All eyes can now comfortably turn to the Nike Ja 4 in colorways like the “Radar,” and by extension, his Nike Twelve Time, a more cost-conscious take on his signature line that’ll follow the parent model a few weeks afterwards.
Already, many tears have been shed for the end of Ja’s third silhouette, already seeming like one of the defining silhouettes from this decade of Nike design. Ben Nethongkome, Morant, and the Swoosh empire as a whole have far greater aims, looking to plant #1’s line as a truly generational one.
Much as the compositional notes, including the continuation of “JA” co-branding, textured exteriors, and rigid design language overall, the colorways will be the make-or-break aspect in determing just how successful the model can be. From our perspective, the Nike Ja 4 “Radar” may just be the best we’ve come across yet. Thermal vision patterning crops up across the upper in fits and stars, while the rest of the exteriors captures a varying mosaic of blues. The “JA” combination of the Swoosh and JA-plate add some sunny contrast in bronze before jet black outsoles and trim provide a grounded close for this colorway.
The Nike Ja 4 “Radar” is expected to release on October 4th, retailing for $130. Kids’ sizing is also expected alongside. Catch in-hand images below and watch our Sneaker Release Dates page for more info as it comes down.
