The Nike Ja 4 Laces Up For “NYvsNY”

With great success comes great expectations, and at least on the sneaker front, Ja Morant has become one of the most must-watch names in all of basketball. Regular readers might recall that it was an exclusive “NYvsNY” colorway tied to the annual NYC streetball tournament that got Morant’s last signature model started, so it’s only natural that the Ja 4, set to debut globally in a matter of weeks, appears to be working a tournament-inspired edition into its rollout as well.

Official images reveal the Ja 4 “NYvsNY” in all its glory, immediately comparable to the Ja 4 “Jaws” with an aquatic purple and teal gradient upper. The reverse Swoosh and midfoot shank come in metallic red, while NYvsNY branding lands on the left tongue and right insole opposite Ja’s signature logo. An all-teal tongue deserves a special callout, potentially serving as a nod to the Statue of Liberty and, in turn, Jalen Brunson’s line of Kobe PEs. Custom “NY” lace dubraes add another layer of character, while white paint splatter appears across the forefoot portion of the outsole.

The Nike Ja 4 “NYvsNY” doesn’t have a firm price or release date yet, though it could be timed to the tournament’s conclusion in mid-August. See official images below and stay tuned for updates.
