Como have handed captain Lucas Da Cunha a new five-year contract after he led them to Champions League qualification last season.
Cesc Fabregas’ team finished fourth in Serie A last term, in what was only their second campaign back in Italy’s top flight following a 21-year absence.
Da Cunha appeared in all but two of Como’s league games last season, starting 31 times, while scoring six goals and assisting four.
He was one of four Como players to reach double figures for Serie A goal involvements in 2025-26, alongside Nico Paz (12 goals, six assists), Tasos Douvikas (14 goals, one assist) and Jesus Rodriguez (two goals, nine assists).
The 25-year-old – who was capped by France at youth level – also ranked third in Como’s squad for chances created, with 45, after Martin Baturina (62) and Paz (51).
Como have been busy in the transfer market ahead of their debut on Europe’s grandest stage, bringing in Alvaro Morata from AC Milan and completing a €60m deal to make Paz’s loan from Real Madrid permanent, as well as making four other signings.
And they completed another important piece of business on Wednesday, extending Da Cunha’s previous deal – which was due to expire in 2029 – for two more years.

Fabregas told the club’s website: “Lucas represents everything we want to build at Como. I had the privilege of playing alongside him when he first arrived, and since then I have watched him grow into a top midfielder, our captain and a real leader for this team.

Da Cunha joined Como when they were still in Serie B in January 2023 and has made 129 appearances for the club overall, scoring 20 goals and providing 15 assists.
