Millions first watched Steven and Daniel Grandy as little boys whose boxing ability seemed years beyond their age. More than a decade later, the viral twins are unbeaten professionals learning from Hall of Famers Winky Wright and Antonio Tarver as they continue their development.
Viral fame was one thing, but proving it wasn’t a gimmick was something else.
Four fights into their professional careers, Steven and Daniel remain unbeaten and continue searching for every possible advantage.
Learning From Tarver and Wright
“This is something we’ve dreamed about,” Steven said. “Growing up, we watched guys like Antonio Tarver and Winky Wright compete against the best fighters in the world. Now they’re taking time to teach us, correct us, and help us improve.
“That’s something we don’t take lightly. Every day we’re in the gym, we’re trying to earn their respect and become better than we were the day before.”
Steven added: “We want to become complete fighters, not just talented fighters.”
Daniel said: “Coach Tarver and Coach Winky have seen everything in boxing. They’re teaching us little details that make a huge difference.
“It’s not just about throwing punches. It’s about being smarter, staying disciplined, and understanding the game at another level.
“We’re grateful for this opportunity because a lot of young fighters never get this kind of experience. We’re going to take everything we learn here and bring it back home on August 14.”
Daniel Grandy Sr’s Plan
WBN caught up with Daniel Grandy Sr. last year. The message has always been the same: build both fighters properly and let the results speak for themselves.
The talent that first captured millions of views has never disappeared. If anything, it has become more obvious with every professional outing.
Training alongside Wright and Tarver isn’t the finish line. It’s another lesson from two men who reached the very top of the sport.
WBN has followed the Grandy Twins through much of the site’s history since launching in 2010. Both possess the talent and dedication to give themselves every opportunity to reach the top of the sport, perhaps even across multiple weight classes.
Every camp is another investment in what both brothers hope will become world championship careers.
For now, Steven and Daniel Grandy are standing on the shoulders of giants as they chase the same heights Wright and Tarver once reached.
