Formula 1 returns this weekend for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, the ninth round of the season – and here are all the details you need to know about the global start times for Sunday’s race and where to watch.

Mercedes’ George Russell and Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton enter their home event in strong form, having shared the previous two Grand Prix wins between them, but Kimi Antonelli still remains the driver to beat with a 40-point lead in the standings.

Elsewhere, reigning World Champion Lando Norris will be hoping to replicate his British success from 12 months ago with McLaren, while Max Verstappen can never be discounted after his best result of the season for Red Bull last weekend in Austria.

Head to the RACE HUB or scroll down for more on how and when you can watch the action, along with the global start times for each session.

What time is the 2026 British Grand Prix?

Free Practice 1 will start proceedings at 1230 local time on Friday, July 3, before the drivers compete in Sprint Qualifying at 1630.

The Sprint will take place at 1200 on Saturday, July 4, before Qualifying starts at 1600. The 52-lap Grand Prix begins at 1500 on Sunday, July 5. Check out the image below to find all the global start times for Sunday’s race.

How can I watch the 2026 British Grand Prix?

You can enjoy coverage from every session live on F1 TV Pro (available in selected countries), which brings fans closer to the action via exclusive features like onboard cameras on all 22 of the drivers’ cars, and access to both Pre-Race and Post-Race Shows.

F1 TV Pro can be streamed easily via Apple TV, Chromecast Generation 2 and above, Android TV, Google TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku. F1 TV Pro is free of ad breaks and available with commentary in six languages.

Fans can also watch via F1 TV Premium, a premier service that invites fans to step into the heart of the action with the ability to watch races in 4K Ultra HD/HDR on up to six different devices, as well as a personalised Multiview feature available on select devices with 26 different feeds to choose from.

Viewers can watch every F1 Grand Prix, F1 Sprint, Qualifying and practice session live in 4K Ultra HD/HDR at home, with F2, F3, F1 ACADEMY and Porsche Supercup sessions also available to watch live on the platform.

Alternatively, live timing will be available on F1.com and the F1 app across every session during the Grand Prix weekend.

Where is the 2026 British Grand Prix taking place?

The British Grand Prix will take place at the Silverstone Circuit, which hosted the inaugural Formula 1 event back in 1950 and has been an almost ever-present staple of the calendar since.

The track is well-known for its fast, flowing sections with iconic corners such as Copse, Maggotts and Becketts that are favourites with the drivers. The added potential for wet weather and passionate fans means it was one of the highlights of the F1 schedule.

Lando Norris came out on top last year to the delight of his home fans, while fellow Britons Lewis Hamilton and George Russell enter their home event in strong form having taken the last two Grand Prix wins between them.

What is the weather forecast in Great Britain?

Conditions are currently expected to be warm and dry throughout the weekend, with a maximum of 27 degrees Celsius forecast on Sunday. Clear conditions are expected with no precipitation currently forecast, making it an ideal day for racing.

When can I watch F2, F3 and F1 ACADEMY during the 2026 British Grand Prix weekend?

All three junior support series will be in action over the weekend, with F2, F3 and F1 ACADEMY drivers set to take on the challenges of Silverstone.

Victory in the Austria Feature Race leaves Red Bull junior Nikola Tsolov just two points behind Gabriele Minì in the F2 standings, with Free Practice getting underway at 1000 local time on Friday, July 3, before Qualifying at 1455.

The racing action will kick off with the Sprint Race at 1345 on Saturday, July 4, followed the next day by the Feature Race at 1115.

F3 running will begin with Free Practice at 0850 on Friday, July 3, followed by Qualifying at 1400. The Sprint Race will take place on Saturday, July 4, at 0935, with the Feature Race on Sunday, July 5, at 0825.

F1 ACADEMY is back in action for the first time in Europe this season, commencing with Free Practice at 0745 on Friday, July 3, followed by Qualifying at 1800. The Reverse Grid Race takes place on Saturday, July 4, at 1805, with the Feature Race getting underway at 1000 the next day.
