Prediction: Spain to win 2-0

Best Odds: 13/2

Bookmaker: Zetbet

Spain and the Netherlands will lock horns with each other in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League this weekend. The second leg of the tie between La Roja and the Oranje will be held at Estadio Olimpico de Sevilla in Seville and is scheduled to kick off at 7:45pm UK time on Sunday.

Spain

Spain are one of the biggest footballing nations in the world who have done well in recent years. La Roja won UEFA Euro 2024 and the UEFA Nations League in 2003, and there is a very good chance that they will become the champions of the UEFA Nations League in 2025 as well.

Luis de la Fuente’s side have not lost a competitive match in almost two years and are one of the strongest teams in the world. They will be one of the favourites to win the 2026 World Cup finals as well.

Spain will fancy their chances of progressing to the semi-finals of the UEFA Nations League. The reigning European champions played out a 2-2 draw with the Netherlands away from home at Stadion Feijenoord in the first leg of the quarter-final tie on Thursday and will head into the second leg as favourites.

Team News:

Spain are likely to line up in a 4-3-3 formation. Simon will be in goal. Porro, Le Normand, Huijsen and Cucurella will be the four defenders. Pedri, Zubimendi and Ruiz will be the three midfielders. Yamal, Morata and Nico Williams will be the three forwards.

Netherlands

The Netherlands are a major power in European and world football and have a strong history behind them. The Oranje are expected to qualify for major international competitions with ease and are also backed to win them.

The Dutch have done well in recent years. They reached the semi-finals at UEFA Euro 2024 where they lost to England. The Netherlands finished second in their UEFA Nations League group behind Germany and were also runners-up in the 2018-29 edition of the competition.

The Netherlands, though, will know that they have a lot to do in the second leg. A 2-2 draw in the first leg means that Spain are the favourites in the second leg. Ronald Koeman’s side will have to score the first goal in the match to stand a chance of progressing from the tie.

Team News:

Verbruggen will be in goal for the Netherlands. Frimpong, Van Hecke, Van Dijk and Geertruida will be the four defenders. Reijnders and Frenkie de Jong are likely to be the two holding midfielders. Simons, Kluivert and Gakpo will be the three attacking midfielders. Memphis Depay will lead the line for the Netherlands.

Key Factors to Consider

Spain have won 5 of their last 6 UEFA Nations League matches.
The Netherlands have won 1 of their last 6 UEFA Nations League matches.
The Netherlands have lost 1 of their last 6 UEFA Nations League matches.
Spain had 59.7% of the possession against the Netherlands in the first leg.
Spain took 15 shots against the Netherlands in the first leg.

Conclusion

Both Spain and the Netherlands have good teams, and it will be interesting to see how the second leg pans out. La Roja did a great job in the first leg, and they should get it over the line in the second leg in Sevilla.

Prediction: Spain to win 2-0

Best Odds: 13/2
